Northridge House of Prayer has been designed to reflect David’s temple (1 Chronicles 22-24); it is a place where we worship the Lord and intercede for our world. Each prayer period consists of two-hour long sessions; which is open to the public.
Our prayer format is based up on the heavenly image that we see in Revelation 5, which speaks of worship and prayer of “harp and cup.” Based on this model, we use two basic worship and prayer formats. Each two-hour intercession period (also called “Sets”) also includes worship with the Word, which is more devotional in nature.
Intercession sessions are usually energetic as an invitation is extended to the whole room to enter into corporate prayer. Generally, there is a focus on prayer and people in the room are encouraged to pray into the microphone, asking for a general burden such as a local region or believers worldwide.
There are also cycles of “rapid fire” prayer where, one by one, the intercessors make a series of short prayers for a specific topic. In the same way, there are times of prayer in small groups for those who want to participate.
“Worship with the Word” is a prayer format in which we affirm our agreement with God’s heart by singing the biblical truths of who God is and what His promises offer. These sessions are more devotional in nature providing a devotional atmosphere conducive to the reading of the Bible and to devotional or contemplative prayer.
As we speak, Jesus is seated at the right of the Majesty (God the father), making intercession for us.
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.Hebrews 1:3
Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.Hebrews 7:25
